What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a technique which has been used in France for more than 50 years. Small amounts of medication, depending on your condition the doctor will prepare a “cocktail” or vitamins. The substances are applied in to the fat and the connective tissue of the skin
( called mesoderm ). It can be sued to treat joint pain, sports injury, treatment of cellulite and unwanted localized fat.
How is the procedure done?
Miniinjections are applied simultaneously just below the surface of the skin, depending on the are to be treated. The most common areas treated are the abdomen, thigh, buttocks, knees and face ( called the mesolift: is great if a festivity is anticipated )
What ingredients are used during the Mesotherapy?
Depending on your condition, the doctors at Eterna M.D. will evaluate and customize a “cocktail”. This “cocktail” might contain aminoacids, anesthetics, plant extracts, vitamins, minerals.
How many treatments are required before the results are visible?
A treatment cycle could require as few as 4 and as many as 10 treatments or more depending on the size of the area being treated and the results desired.
IS MESOTHERAPY painful?
The patient has minimal discomfort. At Eterna M.D. we offer both MESOTHERAPY with NEEDLES and NO NEEDLE MESOTHERAPY. The results with both procedures are similar.
What benefits does mesotherapy have over LIPOSUCTION?
The indications for liposuction are different than the ones for mesotherapy. One doesn’t replace the other. However they complement each other. Meostherapy is non-invasive procedure and therefore doesn’t have the downtime associated with surgery. Liposuction permanently removes fat cells and is arguably a more permanent solution. However, it is a frequent problem with liposuction to have visibly uneven results which can be treated with mesotherapy. What are the side effects and risks of mesotherapy?
Mild discomfort, some bruising, very minimal risk of infection. Our doctors at Eterna M.D. will evaluate and determine if you are a candidate.
Can I go back to work after the mesotherapy?
Yes you can. However abstain for heavy strenuous activity for at least 48 hours, drink plenty of water.
How long do the benefits of Mesotherapy last?
Patients who make a commitment to maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle following treatment should see their results last. Some patients require some maintenance every 6 to 12 months.
Is it MesoTHERAPIE or MesoTHERAPY?
The original French spelling of the word is mesotherapie, however in the United States it is MEsotherapy. If is often misspelled as mezotherapy, misotherapy, meso therapy or mesatherapy.
